Profile data — any additional information you choose to add to your profile, including trade type, location, and profile photo.
Commitment data — the details entered into Digital Commitments, including scope of work, cost, timescale, payment terms, and all communications and updates logged within a Commitment.
Recommendation data — Mutual Recommendations submitted by you or about you at the conclusion of a job.
Usage data — information about how you use the platform, including login activity, pages visited, and actions taken within your account.
Device and technical data — your IP address, browser type, device type, and operating system, collected automatically when you visit our website or use the platform.
Communications data — any messages you send to us directly, including support requests and dispute submissions.
Enquiry data — your name, business name, mobile number and any other information you choose to provide when you contact us or express an interest in Recommend & Share, including through The Tradespeople's Movement, social media, advertising or lead forms.

Contract — processing necessary to provide the platform's services to you, including creating your profile, managing Commitments, and sending SMS notifications.
Legitimate interests — retaining profile data, Commitment records, and Mutual Recommendations to protect other users of the platform and maintain the integrity of the trust infrastructure. This includes retaining data after a profile is suspended or closed.
Legal obligation — processing necessary to comply with applicable laws and regulations.
Enquiries and expressions of interest — where you provide your details and ask us to contact you, we process that information for our legitimate interests in responding to your enquiry, contacting you as requested, and explaining Recommend & Share and how it works. Where you agree during our conversation to receive further information, links or videos, we will use your contact details to send you that information.
6. Data Retention
We retain your personal data for as long as your profile is active on the platform.
Enquiry data — where you provide your details to express an interest in Recommend & Share but do not go on to create a profile, we will retain your enquiry details only for as long as reasonably necessary to respond to your enquiry and follow up your expression of interest. You may ask us to delete your enquiry details at any time, and we will do so unless we are required or permitted by law to retain them.
If you choose to leave the platform, your profile will be suspended and removed from public view. Your personal data will be retained securely in the background under the legal basis of legitimate interest — to protect other users of the platform and to allow you to reinstate your profile and full history if you choose to return.
Commitment data and Mutual Recommendations are retained permanently as part of the platform's trust infrastructure. This data forms part of the evidence trail that protects all users and cannot be deleted on request.
If you believe any data we hold about you is inaccurate, you have the right to request a correction at any time.
7. Identity Verification and Stripe
Profile verification on Recommend & Share is handled through Stripe, a third party identity verification provider. When you submit your identity document for verification, that data is processed by Stripe in accordance with their own privacy policy, available at stripe.com/gb/privacy.
Recommend & Share Ltd does not store your identity document directly. We retain a record of your verification status and the link between your verified identity and your profile.
8. SMS Notifications
We use your mobile number to send you SMS notifications relating to key actions within your active Commitments. These messages are transactional — they relate directly to your use of the platform and are not marketing messages. You cannot opt out of transactional SMS notifications whilst your profile is active, as they form a core part of the platform's functionality.

Our website uses cookies and similar tracking technologies to improve your experience, analyse site usage, and support the functionality of the platform.

We use a small number of trusted third party services to operate the platform. These include Stripe for identity verification and SMS notification providers for transactional messaging. These providers process your data on our behalf and are contractually required to handle it securely and in accordance with UK GDPR.
Where you provide your details through a lead form on Facebook or Instagram, your information is collected through Meta's services and then provided to us so that we can respond to your enquiry. Meta processes information in accordance with its own privacy policy.
We do not share your data with any third party for marketing or commercial purposes.
13. Children
The Recommend & Share platform is not intended for use by anyone under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has created a profile on the platform, please contact us at info@recommendandshare.com and we will take immediate action.

We reserve the right to update this Privacy Policy at any time. We will notify users of any material changes. Continued use of the platform following notification of changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
